Notification of tests.

Civil Aviation Authority Norway introduces notification of tests from 1 July 2025.

The notification routine covers all tests; skill tests, proficiency checks and assessments of competence. The notification routine applies to examiners with a Norwegian examiner certificate, and examiners with a foreign examiner certificate who conduct tests in Norway. The tests shall be notified 72 hours prior to the test.

Routines for the notification system are described in more detail in the Flight Examiner Handbook, section 4.5.14. The form to be used can be found on the examiner pages on CAA Norway's website. See "Test Notification".

The background for introducing notification routines is an EASA finding CAA Norway received in 2023, where it was found that CAA Norway's oversight of examiners was inadequate. When all tests are notified, CAA Norway has a greater opportunity to conduct supervision of examiners.
