How to apply and upload a police certificate for your background check application.

To have your background check approved, you must provide an exhaustive police certificate to the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway (Luftfartstilsynet). You do this by applying for a police certificate on the Norwegian Police website, politiet.no. Select Aviation as the purpose, and then Civil Aviation Authority – Background check.

You will receive your police certificate in Digipost or by regular mail.

How to upload your police certificate

Digipost

Once you have received your certificate, you can easily forward it to us via Digipost. In the address field, write “Luftfartstilsynet” and select Luftfartstilsynet (Bakgrunnssjekk).

Min side (My page)

If you do not have Digipost, you can also upload your police certificate on Min side. You’ll find Min side in the top right corner of our website www.luftfartstilsynet.no.

  • Log in using your electronic ID. Here, you can also check the status of your background check.
  • Select Upload police certificate.
  • Locate the file on your computer and click Open.
  • Your certificate has now been uploaded.
