Establishment of a restricted area, EN R102, around the centre of Oslo
code/image_article.jsp

Because of reported incidents there is focus on the danger of collisions between General Aviation aircraft and the danger of engine failure over the centre of Oslo, The lack of suitable landing places in case of an emergency, can make serious impact on the security around some of the public buildings which are of vital national interest.

To protect the vital infrastructure within the central part of Oslo, The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) publishes a permanent restricted area around the centre of Oslo, EN R 102.

The CAA recommends that all flying near the boundary of EN R102 should fly clockwise when circling the area.

Restricted area:

EN R102

Lateral limits: 1 Nautical Mile Radius, around the position 595500N- 0104400E

Vertical limits: SFC - 3000 FT AMSL

EN R102 is active from November 1. 2007

Airspace restrictions:

All flying is prohibited within the restricted area.

The restrictions do not apply to ambulance-flights with priority, search and rescue, military and police flights. Although, it is very important that all aircraft flying within the greater Oslo area transmits blind on frequency 122.000 MHZ, as stated in AIC N 16/01.

Air traffic with important functions for the community can apply for a dispensation to the restriction.
